The Roads and Grounds department
is the largest department in the Public Works with a crew of six full-time employees.  The Roads and Grounds department is responsible for the maintenance of all roads and lanes within the City of Grand Forks, as well as the airport runway, including snow removal and sanding, black top maintenance and road repairs, street cleaning and street washing.

The Roads and Grounds crew also does line painting including cross walks, stop lines, parking areas and the like.




They install and maintain street signs and assist with setting up for special events such as Canada Day and the Dancing Waters Arts Festival.




The City mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of 75 pieces of equipment and small tools.
