Gene Robert
Hello! I hope the picture did not scare you
too much. My name is Gene Robert and I have been
a citizen of Grand Forks for over 15 years. I ventured
into this beautiful valley as the Manager of
the Government liquor store and I recently retired
one year ago. |
I
ran for council on the premise that I love
living in Grand Forks. The quality of life
here is second to none. During my work career
I would walk home for lunch following the Granby
river to my residence on Riverside Drive. I
forgot to mention that Surrey (Whalley) area
was my previous home. At times I was commuting
1.5 hours one way just to get to work.
After
I retired friends asked " Why in the World
would you want to run for Councillor?" Do
you enjoy Inflicting misery on your life? I
ran because Grand Forks is changing and growing.
I have greatly benefited from living here.
Its time to give back to a community that restored
my health. No more high blood pressure meds,
as well as redefined quality of life and the
beauty of becoming involved with great people
and a beautiful valley.
Grand forks is growing.
I truly believe in "Growth" as long
as it is "Smart Growth". I want to
maintain our quality of life. I want our community
to stay alive and change as the vision of the
citizens that live here changes. I want to
maintain our beauty and intimacy as friends.
